BNP Paribas announces scholarships to Sibelius Academy students
BNP Paribas in Finland has granted two scholarships of 2500€ to talented Sibelius Academy students to support their continued development as musicians. The scholarships were announced at the client event in connection to Sibelius Academy concert at Helsinki Music Center this weekend. Marjo Liukkonen-Lazaro, Country Head BNP Paribas SA, Finland Branch, handed over the scholarships to Leevi Räsänen and Esther Calderón Morales.
Sibelius Academy is a famous Finnish music academy, founded in 1882. The Academy is cornerstone of Finnish music culture through its teaching, research and artistic activities. Jean Sibelius himself studied at the Academy and gave his name to the prestigious institution. BNP Paribas has had collaboration with Sibelius Academy since 4 years. During these years the Bank has supported Cello Festival, Sibafest and renovation of the historical Academy Building, R-Talo, among other activities.
“With our actions, we support one of our most well-known Finnish educational institutions, music and talented students that come from all around the world. Our newly established scholarship for Sibelius Academy students will allow the students to travel, take part in a masterclass, or realize projects related to their studies, important elements in their educational path”, concludes Marjo Liukkonen-Lazaro.
